Poems by Pierre De Ronsard

Pierre de Ronsard

French author, born on 11/09/1524 at Couture-sur-Loir (France), deceased on 27/12/1585 at La Riche (France).

Pierre de Ronsard, the "prince of poets" of the Renaissance, led the Pléiade group alongside Du Bellay. His "Amours," for Cassandre, Marie, and then Hélène, renewed love poetry, and "Mignonne, allons voir si la rose" is learned by every schoolchild. A court poet to Charles IX, he also celebrated the nature of his native Vendômois, as in "À la forêt de Gastine."
