Eustorg de Beaulieu, a 16th-century poet and musician, first pursued a career as an organist and court poet. Converted to the Reformation, he became a pastor in Switzerland and published spiritual songs, the "Chrestienne Resjouyssance" (1546). His poems, ranging from satire of morals to song, retain the flavor of the language of his time.
