Poems by Charles-Nérée Beauchemin

Charles-Nérée Beauchemin

French author, born on 20/02/1850 at Yamachiche (Québec), deceased on 29/06/1931 at Yamachiche (Québec).

Nérée Beauchemin, a Quebec physician and poet, spent nearly his whole life in Yamachiche, the village where he was born. His collections Les Floraisons matutinales (1897) and Patrie intime (1928) celebrate the land, the river, and the traditions of Quebec. Poems such as "L'érable" and "Le vieux parler" express his attachment to his country and its language.
