Poems by Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly

Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly

French author, born on 02/11/1808 at Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte (France), deceased on 23/04/1889 at Paris (France).

Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly, a Norman novelist, critic, and dandy, is best known for "Les Diaboliques." His novels, such as "L'Ensorcelée," blend Catholicism, violent passions, and the landscapes of the Cotentin. A more discreet poet, he collected his verse in "Poussières."
