Poems by François-René De Chateaubriand

Chateaubriand

French author, born on 04/09/1768 at Saint-Malo (France), deceased on 04/07/1848 at Paris (France).

François-René de Chateaubriand, writer and politician, is the great forerunner of French Romanticism. His "Memoirs from Beyond the Grave," written over more than thirty years, recount a life shaped by the Revolution, exile, and the Empire. Less well known, his poems evoke the sea of his childhood in Saint-Malo, the seasons, and departure.
