Song in the Form of a Dialogue

Poem by Eustorg De Beaulieu Period 16th century

– Good day, good year and good New Year’s gift
And may God keep my darlings from harm.
Where do you come from? what brings you here?
– Good day, good year and good New Year’s gift,
We come from the green plain,
From singing motets and songs.
– Good day, good year and good New Year’s gift
And may God keep my darlings from harm.
