Art

Poems about art, beauty and the role of the poet, from Joachim du Bellay to Apollinaire. Baudelaire devotes “The Beacons” to the great painters, Verlaine writes his “Art of Poetry” and Victor Hugo reflects on the “Fonction du poète”. A few fables by La Fontaine round out these thoughts on creation.
